Today we are in my master bedroom! We use this space almost more than our living room, it’s true. My husband’s job requires him to work a lot outside of the office so we have an area where he can work while I do all of my little crafty projects. We watch a lot of family t.v. together snuggled up in our bed with the kiddos. I like to keep the spaces in my home pretty light and bright. I found my Liberty of London comforter at Target awhile back and basically used that as the inspiration for the colors of the space. We live in an apartment complex and they don’t really allow painting walls, so I try to use a lot of pops of color to make the space a little less sterile. All of the other pieces just sort of fell in to place when it comes to my decor. The very shabby side tables came from the flea market for a whopping $15.00 for both of them, I commandeered them from my friend and I love them!
Now lets get down to it… you want to know about my light fixture.
I originally fell in love with this baby while reading Young House Love a long time ago. I believe they had the same one in their master bedroom as well. I needed this light, I NEEDED IT! Of course St. Louis is a bummer and there isn’t an IKEA close to where I live, so i moved on with my life and tried to forget about it. Finally last summer we took a family vacation to Austin to stay with my aunt and they had an IKEA an exit away. Well naturally the first thing i did was haul ass to IKEA and find my light! I convinced my husband that we could fit it in the car (with a pair of side tables I had purchased at a resale shop during the trip). We literally jam packed my Mazda 3 hatchback so tight it was going to explode and drove 16 hours home!
My heart grew three times its size that day.
I know I just rambled on and on about my room decor, so why don’t I just let you take a look around yourself!

I love it all! You really have a way with putting things together in a room. I can imagine it would be hard to feel down in such a bright and beautiful space!
It's lovely! All the colors are so cheery and I love the gallery wall above the bed.

I love these pictures, mostly because I am OBSESSED with floral sheets lately especially pillow cases. *sigh* my wallet may hate me, but it will so be worthy it when I have my own place.
