I have been dying to use the new cupcake liners and toppers that Sandra over at Lara’s Vintage sent to me last week, so I decided cupcakes were a must today! I am a cupcake addict, so much so that I have one tattooed on my arm. When I was in high school, my best friend and I always made the best semi homemade strawberry cupcakes around. Anytime I want a delicious and quick batch of cupcakes I still go back to our high school recipe. Today was one of those days and this post is more to appreciate how cute they look than give you an actual recipe because they are that easy!
What You’ll Need:
1 box of strawberry cake mix
1 cup strawberry soda
butter cream icing
sprinkles of your choice
Like I said, these cupcakes are semi homemade….a.k.a follow the directions on the box but substitute the water in your cake mix for strawberry soda. This makes the strawberry flavor really pop, and the carbonation makes the cupcakes really light and fluffy.
When your cupcakes cool top with yummy butter cream icing. You can either use store bought, or make your own like I did from this recipe. Give a little shake of sprinkles on top and enjoy!
Stay tuned guys because I’ll be sharing another sweet treat over at Lara’s Vintage next week!
