Lately I’ve been finding it really hard to come back to blogging. I’ve shared my thoughts on blogging before and how much the community has changed as of lately and how that has effected not only myself but some of my very good blogger friends as well. It’s hard to find my voice after taking such a huge step back and it’s almost made me feel like a stranger in this space. Obviously I haven’t kept up with sponsorships, emails, or on my connections with the good friends I’ve made through the years here and it makes me a little sad to see my passion for blogging slip away.
I think that if I do stick around here things will be different, a name change, a different direction, a different attitude toward the blogging world. Sometimes we grow and the things we once love just aren’t that great anymore, it’s all apart of the journey. I’m still trying to figure out where my journey will lead me.
I don’t want this space to be about expensive material objects, sponsored content, and posts without heart and hard work. I want all of my passions and creativity to flourish here without the worry that my readers will not respond. In the end my blog is for me, and I have to be happy with it every step of the way.
Recently I found this little survey posted by Sometimes Sweet and I thought I would take it and post it here to remind myself about my love for blogging and connecting, and to maybe get back into the swing of things.
1. When did you first start blogging and why?
I first started a blogger account in 2008 and wrote a high fashion blog for a short time before starting this more “official” blog in 2012. I started blogging to share my love for vintage goods and ran it alongside my vintage Etsy shop which is now closed.
2. Have you had any past online presence?
3. When did you become serious about your blog?
I have had a love hate relationship with my blogging experience over the last two years. There have been times where I have taken it very seriously and dedicated a lot of time to posts, sponsorships, ect and times where I have just left the radio silence drag on for weeks or months.
4. What was your first blog post?
My first blog post was more of an introduction to the space and what I had hoped to create for my blog over time. I’ve used it as sort of a “start here” page for new readers to get to know me in the past, but now its just there in my archives.
5. What have been your biggest challenges blogging?
6. What is the most rewarding thing about blogging?
7. What is the most discouraging thing about blogging?
8. What is your lasting inspiration or motivation?
9. What is your blogging dirty little secret?
I don’t really know if I have one currently. I used to write a weeks worth of posts at a time and scheduled them so that I would be frantic everyday but obviously I stopped doing that.
10. What is your current goal as a blogger?
11. Have you learned or become passionate about anything through blogging that caught you by surprise?
Very much so. I’ve become so much more passionate about creating and painting because of encouragement that I have received here. I would have never thought that my handmade and paper goods would be making themselves around the world and that so many people would be so supportive of what I do. Big surprise.
Hopefully in the near future I will come back here more often and I can decided on what direction I want to take this space but until then I hope to keep in touch with you all on Instagram and Twitter.
Rebrand, maybe? đŸ™‚ I'm limiting the amount of sponsored posts just to have more of "me" show. It's your space, do what you want and when!! ♥ It's easy to feel obliged to do things.
I definitely know this feeling. This is a beautiful idea. I say, if you find your way back to this, great. If you move on to other things, also great (although sad for your readers). There are no rules.

Thanks lady! I think I'm going to stick around but things will be changing big time!
I'm definitely rebranding and changing my content. There will be a lot more crotchet and knit content! Way less vintage!
*crochet hahaha!
Love your pictures, they're so crisp and clean. If you don't mind sharing, why kind of camera are you using– brand, lens, price point.., etc. I would like to buy a new camera this year. I found your blog on the blog hop. Please follow me back on BLOG LOVIN
Hello Dear, Thanks for linking up with us! I actually just use my iPhone for all of the pictures on my blog. I have a canon point and shoot but I've found that my phone takes better photos. I hope one day I can purchase a nice camera but until then my trust phone does the trick!
