2016, the year my blog died.
In all seriousness though, it’s been quite awhile since I dusted this space off and gave a little update. Life has been absolutely full of sweetness, love, and joy. We welcomed our daughter Luna Eloise into the world on September 30th, exactly two months ago today, after carrying her in my womb for 41 long and beautiful weeks (birth story to come ya’ll). The past two months have been a whirlwind of sleepless nights and baby poop but we’ve loved every single minute. Life with three kids is so full of every single good thing; love, laughter, connection, and excitement. I have been trying my hardest to soak it all in, hoping I remember these sweet newborn times a little bit better than the last. All the smells and sounds and sweet little full body stretches after long milk drunk naps. It’s all so good.

The two big kids love their little sister so much and have fully stepped into their new sibling roles. Marli is especially maternal and I love to see the say she cares for Luna and tries to soothe her when she’s a little fussy. Hunter likes to mostly admire her from afar and often gushes over how cute she is and how much he loves her. Seeing the three of the together makes my heart feel so full, we waited so long to bring another little life into our family and now she is here, perfect and sweet and magical.
So far it has felt like we hit the baby jackpot, Luna is such a good little baby! She nursed like a champion from day one (my easiest so far) and is always smiling or in a generally pleasant mood. Waking up at 2 a.m. is much easier when there is a sweet little face beaming up at you! I was worried that having a newborn after so many years with older kids would be a big adjustment but she has made it truly easy for us and we cannot imagine what our lives would look like without her. Two months in the world and everything is brighter.
I’m hoping that 2017 gives me more opportunities to keep this space updated with little snaps of our life and maybe even a few extra things when i’m lead to post them. Having this space is always comforting, even if it sits silent all year long.
